Ignite is a speaking event that has been held in over 200 cities worldwide. The first Ignite took place in Seattle in 2006, and since then the event has become an international phenomenon, with gatherings in Helsinki, Finland; Paris, France; New York, New York; and many other locations.
At Ignite events, presenters share their personal and professional passions using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just five minutes. As part of a parent engagement initiative, the Avon Maitland District School Board has adapted this Ignite theme to focus on education. Our goal is to engage, inspire and enlighten parents.
Ignite Parents promises to be a fun and exciting evening with inspiring presentations by passionate people. There will be displays to peruse, plenty of delicious refreshments and a cash bar will be available. This event is free and open to all. Be there to be enlightened, or enlighten others. You’ll be amazed at what is going on in the field of education!
